Important Customer Notice

To Make an Order please email your full details according to "how to make an order" sample below, and send it to citscakes@live.com. Please email us in advance for decorated orders as it takes awhile to get to each email from various customers, and answer questions, discuss designs etc. plus i need advance notice to work out your order into my schedule and work around other orders as well. bear in mind i work alone so orders per day are limited.

we will try to respond to your email asap but do expect atleast 3-4days at times depending on how much emails we get at times. your emails will be responded back by my assistant momo. but i try to find time after im done doing orders to check on emails too.
As im usualy working doing decorations, baking etc, i sometimes miss calls, and i get so many txts coming in its hard to keep track of them which is why i recommend emailing me as its easier to organize and search and i have a record of your email orders.

or better yet if you find both emailing or Through phone hard, you can drop by my house to place an order (quite a number of customers have done this and its my most preferred method easier to discuss n confirm everything in one time) just set up an appointment with me.

as for basic cupcakes/cakes or other desserts i sell that requires no fancy decorating. (wordings are excluded as fancy) atleast a minimum of few hours or a day in advance notice is required, in this case msging or calling will be entertained.

Thanks for your support and understanding. i really whole heartedly appreciate it.

:D

X-box Cake~

This is an X-box Cake i did quite sometime ago. This was before i went for my Course. It was for my nephew Alawi's 8th Bday. That makes it 4 yrs back. He is now 12yrs old and a permanent resident of my house. haha. He lives next door but prefers to stay over here. I don't mind at all as he likes helping me out in the kitchen, he also gets to be my no.1 taster. Its my brothers who usually does the tasting but they're not around. hehe. So yea~

More cupcakes~

This was cupcakes i did last summer holidays. Vanilla Cupcake with an Italian Meringue Buttercream. Delish~ this is more for the sweet toothed ones out there. But for the ones who can't handle sweetness, i usually cut back the amount of sugar in the cake as to balance out the sweetness of the frosting . hehe.

Butterfly 3-tiered Cake & Car Cake~

Few posts back i wrote about the two birthday cakes i did, Wacky cake and the Liverpool Football Cake. I'm now going to post pictures of two cakes i did last year for the same birthday celebrants. hehe.

I call this cake the "stuck in mud" car cake~ hehehe.

For my niece who wanted a "marry" cake (as in a wedding cake style, with tiers) hahaha~ a year later she still wanted a tiered cake..but a wacky one. hehe.

More Red velvet Cupcakes~

Made some more red velvet cupcakes this week. This time i did it with a swirl and some flower cut-outs and sugar crystals. But i did a mistake with the frosting on this one. I did the mistake of rushing, sometimes when I'm in my zone i completely forget the little things. I have to keep reminding my self to take it slow. Patience is virtue especially when it comes to baking & decorating cakes. My mistake? Beating in the butter at the wrong time. It taste alright but the butter didn't incorporate in that well. I gotta be very strict in terms of quality control. So i kept this at home. Good thing i have my nephews who stays next door to not let the lovely cupcakes go to waste. hehe.

Architecture themed Cake~

I've been super busy working in the kitchen. With netball training for the upcoming lufbru games its been hectic. Explains the lack of updates. Plus my laptop wire is acting up again..can't switch my laptop on and most of my photos are in there. =S But i've got photos of new cakes i've done recently. :D and I've got another cake project for next week which im excited about, another attempt on making a car.

Anyways i just wanna point out how great it is to see the cupcake scene hitting brunei like a storm. Cupcakes are all the craze worldwide. Its good to see the same scene here in brunei, seeing fellow bakers/decorators offering their talent n creativity is just what we need around here. Shows us bruneians can be just as creative. ;) i guess the idea of having bitesize cakes is rather appealing, no fuss with knives n serving them on plates. Just pick one right up and enjoy~ and its also great to see how much demand there is now for 3D cakes, from cars, football to golf themed, to handbags, flowers and shoes. Its fun really, its like "pimp ur cake". hahaha~

Anyways i had an order to make an architect themed cake, she wanted a cake topped with tools architects use such as rulers, compass, eraser, pencil and blueprints! hehe had fun doing this.

White Chanel Handbag with Pearl Piping Cake

Few weeks back just before i came back to Brunei, I had a request to make a cake for a friend of mine Nuri. It was her 22nd Birthday and she is so in love with Chanel handbags and she loves the color white, we all thought lets make her a White Chanel handbag cake. So i did~ It was quite a rush job, especially with me living in halls so i dun really have the equipment to bake what more to decorate such a fancy cake. But thankfully i was lent a kitchen. as long as there was an oven and stuff like whisk, mixing bowls, rolling pins and all that i can make it work. So the turn out looked great! except we didn't have a cake board so i had to improvise and use this foil tray and covered it with sugar paste. and i didn't have time to do a proper handle for it..just a small thin one which i didn't get to color to make it stand out more. but overall i think it looks so pretty!!~ :)

Polka dot & Stripes Wacky Cake, Liverpool Ball Cake~

As i said on my last post i had two birthday cakes to do for the same day. One was for my niece Attiyyah for lunchtime and the other for Abg Shafique at night. It was my first making a Topsy-turvy wacky cake and a football cake with a human model sugar paste. So i was quite excited making them. Everything turned out quite well. Except for the human model sugar paste, as the sugar paste i made didn't turn out well, it hardened easily so wasn't easily pliable, so had a hard time rolling it out and shaping it into things. But i have now perfected the recipe which came out with a better result as the sugar paste came out soft and pliable. and then i shaped the human i forgot to color it so i just had to brush it with dust food colour so skin looked patchy which i was quite unhappy about. but overall both cakes look great..and the birthday celebrants loved it. so I'm glad about that~ :D enjoy the photos!

Red Velvet Cupcakes

Since i got back I couldn't help but get started on my baking straight away. Oh how i missed my dearest oven. hehe. So what have i made since i got back last week. I Love red velvet cupcakes, every time i go to hummingbirds bakery that's the only cupcake i eat but theirs are too sweet especially their frosting so i decided, i have to find out how to make these myself. So finally came up with a good recipe for Red Velvet cupcakes, been trying out all sorts of recipe but non of them are accurate, so a little adjustments here n there and voila~ the most fluffiest moist cake I've come across, i love it with Vanilla Cream Cheese Frosting its no wonder why they are Oprah's favorite cupcake n its definitely one of my favorites too ;) also made my finger licking good Brownies, they are a favorite among my nieces & nephews who are always staying over or coming around the house. You can have them with(for a richer more chocolaty brownie) or without frosting (i think they taste just as good on its own), another option would be with nuts.

And i also had two birthday cake orders on the same day! 16th July. One was for my niece Attiyyah, and the other was for Abg Shafique. And it was also my mum's Birthday that day so made some more red velvet cupcakes for her, decorated with hearts and some coloured sugar to make them look pretty. :) Im posting up the photos of the red velvet cupcakes first. and will post about the birthday cakes the next time. :)

Welcome!~

I decided to do a separate blog from my personal blog to post up photos of my creations. Its just better as people who are interested in cakes and only that can browse through easily. And i guess its good idea as I'm starting to sell my stuff to the public. Well I've always have been selling my cakes but mostly to family & friends. I guess now I'm ready to go for a bigger number of customers. But just to remind you as I'm working alone, i do have quite a tight schedule now as i do both baking and decorating these cakes. But hopefully ill manage to squeeze in appropriate amount of orders and get everything done in time and looking just like how u want them to. :D so yes hopefully ill get to update this blog regularly with my latest creations. so enjoy the photos~ and take care.
